Frequently Asked Questions

What beers does Vale Brewing make?

Vale Brewing's core range is built for drinkability: Vale Ale (4.5%), the original and an early star of Australia's craft scene; Crisp Lager (4.2%); Tropic Ale (4.2%), juicy with stone fruit and passionfruit; IPA (5.5%), full and pillowy with passionfruit and pine; and Mid Coast (3.5%), a one-standard-drink mid-strength that doesn't compromise on flavour. Sippify stocks them in 375ml cans.

Where is Vale Brewing from?

Vale Brewing began in McLaren Vale, South Australia in 2008 as the McLaren Vale Beer Company, and its flagship Vale Ale quickly became one of the young Australian craft scene's most-loved beers. A purpose-built brewery followed in Willunga in 2012, and the Vale name in 2015. Now part of the Bickford's Group family, Vale returned to its spiritual home with a restaurant and bar in the hills of Blewitt Springs.

Which Vale beer should I try first?

If you want easy refreshment, start with Crisp Lager — clean, biscuity and made to be plucked from an esky of ice. If you like juicy hops without heavy bitterness, Tropic Ale is the pick, all stone fruit and tropical notes. Vale Ale is the classic all-rounder for pizza, burgers and steak. For big hop character go the IPA, and for a session that lasts, Mid Coast at 3.5% is your secret weapon.

Is Vale beer gluten free?

No — Vale beers are brewed with malted grains and contain gluten, as do most traditional beers. If you need gluten-free options, Sippify stocks a wide range of naturally gluten-free spirits and several RTDs that carry a gluten-free callout on their product page.

Can I buy Vale beer online by the carton?

Yes — Vale beers are available as single cans, packs and full cartons, and buying by the carton is the best value. Sippify delivers Australia-wide (excluding NT and some remote areas), usually dispatching within 1–2 business days.

Vale Brewing

McLaren Vale-born beers, brewed to refresh

Est.: 2008
Region: McLaren Vale, South Australia

Vale Brewing began in 2008 as the McLaren Vale Beer Company, and its flagship Vale Ale quickly became one of the young craft scene's most-loved beers - an early star of the annual Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll.

A purpose-built brewery followed in Willunga in 2012, and the Vale name in 2015. Through it all the philosophy has held steady: clean, flavourful, refreshing beers that respect the drinker's thirst - a crisp lager, a juicy Tropic Ale, a full-flavoured IPA and the one-standard-drink Mid Coast.

Now part of the Bickford's Group family, Vale still calls the Vale home, with its restaurant and bar perched in the rolling hills of Blewitt Springs.
