The range covers Australian and American whiskey. From 23rd Street Distillery: Australian Whisky, Australian Single Malt Whisky, Hybrid Whisk(e)y and the limited Year of the Snake single malt. From the USA: Real McCoy bourbon and its Salted Caramel, Buttered Popcorn and Cinnamon Doughnut flavoured whiskeys, Bearded Lady bourbon, and Five Square Mile Rye and Bourbon.

23rd Street Australian Single Malt starts with barley ripened on Kangaroo Island, distilled in the distillery's heritage copper pot stills and matured a minimum of three years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels through warm Riverland summers. The colour is golden amber, with elegant aromas of toffee, lifted fruit and delicate vanillin oak, and a full, lightly sweet palate of citrus, apricot, malted milk and butterscotch.

It's regional spelling: Scotland, Japan and Canada write "whisky", while Ireland and the United States generally write "whiskey". Australia uses both. 23rd Street's Hybrid Whisk(e)y spells it both ways deliberately, because it blends Scotch and American Bourbon — round malted flavours and rich sherry characters with toasty oak, finished back in bourbon barrels.

Start neat in a tulip-shaped glass to concentrate the aromas, then add a few drops of water — it genuinely opens up the nose and softens the alcohol heat. Ice is fine if you prefer it cold, though it mutes some aroma. For mixing, bourbon and rye make excellent Old Fashioneds and Manhattans, and Australian whisky with dry ginger ale is an underrated highball.
