Frequently Asked Questions

What wine does Sippify sell?

Sippify stocks wine from the Bickford's Group family: Beresford Wines from McLaren Vale (Classic, Emblem, Estate, Limited Release and Grand Reserve), Press + Bloom small-batch wines, Queen Adelaide, Katherine Hills, Half Mile Creek, Andrew Garrett Sparkling Shiraz, and the Galway Pipe fortified range. Reds, whites, rosé, sparkling and fortified are all represented.

What is the difference between Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon?

Shiraz is Australia's signature red — full bodied and generous, with dark berry fruit, pepper and spice, and soft rich tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon is more structured and firm, showing blackcurrant, violet and cedar with grippier tannins and a longer finish.

What temperature should I serve wine at?

Red wine is best at cellar temperature, around 16–18°C — slightly cooler than typical Australian room temperature, so 20 minutes in the fridge on a warm day genuinely helps. White wine and rosé suit 8–10°C, a couple of hours in the fridge. Sparkling wine should be thoroughly chilled at 6–8°C. Fortified wines like tawny are best slightly cooled, around 14–16°C.

How long does wine last once opened?

Most still wines are best within 3–5 days of opening if you re-seal them and keep them cool — reds included, which benefit from the fridge once open. Sparkling wine loses its bead quickly, so use a proper sparkling stopper and drink within 1–2 days. Fortified wines like Galway Pipe tawny are far more forgiving and will hold their character for several weeks.
